TikTok Shop fees in Malaysia 2026: what you keep
The fees TikTok Shop takes from a Malaysian seller, what changes on 16 October 2026, and what is left of a RM100 sale.

TikTok Shop charges a Malaysian seller three fees on an ordinary order, not one: a commission set by product category, a transaction fee of 3.78%, and a flat RM0.54 Platform Support Fee per delivered order. Sellers inside its Bonus Extra Program (BXP) pay a fourth. On a RM100 skincare sale a Marketplace seller outside BXP keeps RM80.56 before product cost, packing and shipping.

Key takeaways
- Three fees, or four. Commission, a 3.78% transaction fee and a RM0.54 per-order Platform Support Fee all come out of the same settlement — and a Bonus Extra Program seller pays a 4.86% BXP fee on top (TikTok Shop Malaysia).
- From 16 October 2026 a TikTok PayLater order costs more. Its transaction fee goes to 4.86%, while every other payment method stays at 3.78% (TikTok Shop Malaysia).
- Lower commission is not a lower bill. Skincare commission is 10.80% for a BXP Marketplace seller against 15.12% outside BXP — but the 4.86% BXP fee more than swallows the difference.
- Commission comes back on a return. The RM0.54 does not. TikTok refunds commission on returned items but states the Platform Support Fee "shall not be refunded to sellers".

What does TikTok Shop charge a seller in Malaysia?
TikTok Shop charges a Malaysian seller three separate fees on an ordinary order, four inside the Bonus Extra Program, all deducted from the order settlement. Commission is "the amount that TikTok Shop charges to all sellers in Malaysia based on the category of a product", and it differs between Marketplace and Mall, which TikTok charges at different rates. The transaction fee is a flat percentage. The Platform Support Fee is fixed per order.
| Fee | Charged on | Rate (SST inclusive) |
|---|---|---|
| Commission fee | Item price less your own discount, by product sub-category | 0% to 18.90%, depending on category, Marketplace or Mall, and BXP status |
| Transaction fee | Item price less your discount, plus any shipping the customer paid | 3.78%, or 4.86% on TikTok PayLater orders from 16 October 2026 |
| Platform Support Fee | Every successfully delivered order, whatever its size | RM0.54 (RM0.50 plus 8% SST) |
| BXP fee | Item price less your discount, Bonus Extra Program sellers only | 4.86% |
Every published commission rate already includes tax: "the Commission Fee Rate in the aforementioned table is inclusive of tax". Meta works the other way round and adds service tax on top of what you spend, as the Meta Ads Manager guide for Malaysia sets out.
How is the commission fee worked out, and what changes the rate?
Commission is charged on the item price after your own discount, by product sub-category, at four rates: Marketplace or Mall, and inside or outside the Bonus Extra Program that sellers opt into. Skincare is 10.80% for a BXP Marketplace seller, 15.12% for a non-BXP one, and 14.04% and 18.36% on Mall. Fragrance and makeup sit higher at 11.34% and 15.66% on Marketplace.
The spread by category is wide, and the bottom of it is zero. Staples and cooking essentials, fresh and frozen food and baking carry 0.00% commission in all four columns, part of a round of cuts TikTok rolled out on 20 June 2026 across "several daily necessities and essential categories". Snacks and drinks are charged 9.18% for BXP Marketplace sellers and 13.50% for non-BXP ones; dog and cat food sits at 7.56% and 11.88%.
Two details decide whether your sum matches TikTok's. Bonus Extra Program sellers were exempted from the September 2025 commission revision and so "enjoy lower fees compared to non-BXP sellers" — but they are also charged a "BXP Fee rate: 4.86% (SST Inclusive)" on the same base, which on skincare costs more than the commission saving is worth. And TikTok's own platform-funded discounts are not taken off before commission is worked out: the calculation "does not consider any TikTok Shop platform discount". Your discount reduces the fee base; TikTok's does not.
What is the RM0.54 Platform Support Fee, and who does not pay it?
The Platform Support Fee is a flat charge on a delivered order, introduced on 15 February 2026 and "fixed at RM 0.50 (8% SST exclusive) (or RM 0.54 (8% SST inclusive)) per successfully delivered order, regardless of item quantity or the order value". Orders of baking, fresh and frozen, staples and cooking essentials and KPM-catalogue textbooks get it back in full, rebated monthly. New and small Marketplace sellers can have it waived for 30 days.
Because it is flat, it hits small baskets hardest: RM0.54 is 0.54% of a RM100 order and 2.7% of a RM20 order. TikTok left commission rates alone when it brought the fee in, and put the consequence in writing rather than leaving sellers to find it:
"With the Platform Support Fee in place, sellers are encouraged to review product assortments and pricing strategy to adjust accordingly." TikTok Shop Malaysia Seller University, Platform Support Fee, page dated 22 April 2026.
The category exemption above needs no mission, and it removes the per-order fee, not commission — commission is what the 20 June 2026 change cut. It is "rebated at the beginning of each calendar month for the previous 30-day consideration period". The two waivers are different. Since 3 April 2026 a Marketplace seller onboarded on or after 1 April 2026 can get a 120-day commission fee waiver plus a 30-day Platform Support Fee waiver, and a small or medium Marketplace seller — onboarded at least 30 days, with 1 to 100 net orders, or 101 to 200 net orders and RM3,000 or less in sales over the last 30 days — can get the 30-day Platform Support Fee waiver. Neither arrives on its own: you must click "Start" and complete the mission tasks in Seller Centre.
What is the TikTok Shop transaction fee, and what changes on 16 October 2026?
The transaction fee splits in two by payment method. From 00:00 on 16 October 2026, Malaysian time, orders paid with TikTok PayLater carry a 4.86% transaction fee, while "for other payment methods: 3.78% (SST inclusive), unchanged". That is 1.08 percentage points more, about RM1.08 on a RM100 order, on a payment method the buyer picks and you do not.
Since 15 February 2026 the fee is worked out as "(Original item price - Seller discount + Customer-paid shipping fee) * Fee Rate", so customer-paid shipping is inside the base and TikTok's platform discounts are not. The rate itself has been 3.78% since 5 September 2024, up from 2.16% before that.
What do you keep on a RM100 TikTok Shop sale?
A Malaysian skincare seller keeps between RM76.78 and RM80.56 of a RM100 TikTok Shop sale, before paying for the product, the packing or the shipping. How much depends on which of four positions you hold. Take a RM100 order with no discount and no customer-paid shipping:
| Seller type | Commission | Transaction fee | BXP fee | Per-order fee | Total fees | You keep |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Marketplace, BXP | RM10.80 (10.80%) | RM3.78 | RM4.86 | RM0.54 | RM19.98 | RM80.02 |
| Marketplace, non-BXP | RM15.12 (15.12%) | RM3.78 | — | RM0.54 | RM19.44 | RM80.56 |
| Mall, non-BXP | RM18.36 (18.36%) | RM3.78 | — | RM0.54 | RM22.68 | RM77.32 |
| Mall, BXP | RM14.04 (14.04%) | RM3.78 | RM4.86 | RM0.54 | RM23.22 | RM76.78 |
Skincare rates from TikTok Shop Malaysia's commission table, read 12 October 2026. Only RM3.78 of every RM100 separates the cheapest of the four from the dearest, and the Bonus Extra Program is not the cheapest once its own fee is in. Which of the four you are shows in Seller Centre.
TikTok's own worked example proves the fees stack: on a RM1,000 guitar discounted by RM100 it shows commission of RM102.06, a transaction fee of RM34.02 and the Platform Support Fee at RM0.50 on a line of its own, inside a stated total of RM136.58. A margin model built from two fees is short by one. On your own storefront the costs are a gateway cut and a monthly bill instead: see what an online store costs in Malaysia.
Which TikTok Shop fees come back if the order is returned?
Commission comes back. The Platform Support Fee does not. TikTok counts only "paid orders that have been successfully delivered to and accepted by the buyer" as valid, and refunds the commission in full if the whole order goes back, or on the refunded items if part of it does.
The per-order fee is explicitly excluded, because "for orders that are successfully delivered but subsequently returned or refunded, the Platform Support Fee shall not be refunded to sellers".
So on a category with heavy returns, every returned order still costs RM0.54 that no refund gives back. Both show on the monthly invoice in Finance, Invoice Centre, Platform Service Fee.
How do you check you are not pricing from last year's fees?
Read the dates on the page you are copying from. One third-party guide still circulating promises "the two main types of fees you need to be aware of in 2025". It is dated 14 March 2025 — before the September 2025 commission revision, the Platform Support Fee of 15 February 2026, the essential-category cuts of 20 June 2026 and the PayLater rate of 16 October 2026.
The RM0.54 is only the floor of the error: that page's commission rate is pre-revision too.
Four changes have landed since that guide was written. If the page you are pricing from predates any of them, it is wrong:
| Took effect | What changed |
|---|---|
| September 2025 | Commission rates revised |
| 15 February 2026 | Platform Support Fee of RM0.54 per delivered order introduced |
| 20 June 2026 | Commission cut on essential categories |
| 16 October 2026 | TikTok PayLater transaction fee rises to 4.86%, other methods stay at 3.78% |
Take the rate for your exact sub-category from the commission table, not a reported range: the ranges disagree. And treat creator commission as another cost, not a marketing extra: what Malaysian creators charge is in our breakdown of influencer rates, and the disclosure rules for their posts are in the UGC guide.

Frequently asked questions
Does TikTok Shop charge a monthly fee to sell in Malaysia?
TikTok Shop charges per order, not per month: a commission set by product sub-category, a transaction fee of 3.78% (4.86% on TikTok PayLater orders from 16 October 2026) and a Platform Support Fee of RM0.54 per successfully delivered order, all deducted from the order settlement. Sellers in the Bonus Extra Program are charged a fourth, a 4.86% BXP fee.
Is the TikTok Shop commission in Malaysia inclusive of SST?
Yes. TikTok Shop states that the commission rates in its published table are inclusive of tax, and the transaction fee of 3.78% is quoted SST inclusive as well. The Platform Support Fee is published both ways: RM0.50 excluding 8% SST, or RM0.54 including it. Read a published TikTok rate as the all-in number.
Do I get TikTok Shop fees back if the buyer returns the order?
Commission comes back, the per-order fee does not. TikTok refunds the full commission if an entire order is returned, and the commission on the refunded items if only part of it is. The Platform Support Fee is excluded: TikTok says it is not refunded to sellers on orders that were delivered and later returned or refunded.
Can a new TikTok Shop seller in Malaysia get the fees waived?
Partly, since 3 April 2026. A Marketplace seller onboarded on or after 1 April 2026 can get a 120-day commission fee waiver plus a 30-day Platform Support Fee waiver, and a small or medium Marketplace seller can get the 30-day Platform Support Fee waiver. Neither is automatic: the seller must start the mission in Seller Centre.
