Our approach

Why parents choose Marigold.

Ten years on, most of our enrolments come through parent referrals. Here is what they say makes the difference.

01

Hands-on Montessori materials

Our shelves are stocked with authentic AMI materials — bead chains, sandpaper letters, puzzle maps — chosen for what a child at each stage is ready to discover.

02

Outdoor & messy play, every day

Rain or shine, children spend real time outside. Mud, water, sand, paint — sensory experiences are not extras here, they are part of the curriculum, every single school day.

03

Bilingual from day one

Malay and English are woven through daily classroom life from the very first day. Kindergarten children also begin Mandarin — practical trilingualism that opens real doors in Malaysia.

04

Gentle settling-in

We expect tears on day one. We do not rush the goodbye. Every new child gets their own slow settling-in plan, worked out together with parents before the first day.

“Marigold is not just a preschool — it is the first place outside of home where your child learns that the world is good, safe, and full of things to discover.

Before you ask

Real questions, honest answers.

My child cries at drop-off. How do you handle settling-in?

We expect it, and we plan for it. Before your child's first day, we schedule a home visit or a parent meeting to understand their temperament, comfort objects, and home routine. We then build a personal settling-in timetable — usually a week of progressively longer stays — so the classroom becomes familiar before full attendance begins. Most children are settled and asking to stay within two weeks.

Is the food really Halal? Can you handle allergies?

Yes. Our kitchen is fully Halal-certified and we cook on-site every day — no catering delivery, no shared facility. Before enrolment we collect a full allergy and dietary form. Common allergens (nuts, shellfish, eggs, dairy) are flagged in the kitchen and on your child's tray. For severe allergies, parents may pack a labelled meal and we will store and serve it at the correct time.

What is the difference between half-day and full-day?

Half-day runs 8:00 am to 12:30 pm and includes a morning snack. Full-day extends to 5:30 pm and adds a Halal hot lunch, afternoon snack, and a one-hour quiet rest period. For Nursery, full-day is an add-on of RM 200 per month. For Kindergarten, only full-day is offered — the school-readiness programme needs the full afternoon block.

What should my child bring on the first day?

A labelled backpack with a change of clothes, a water bottle (no fizzy drinks), and any comfort item for the first week. We provide the Marigold uniform, stationery, and all Montessori materials. You do not need to buy activity books or worksheets — we do not use them.

What is the deposit and refund policy?

A one-time registration fee of RM 500 is payable upon enrolment — this covers the starter kit, uniform, and your child's place. Monthly fees are invoiced at the start of each month and due by the 5th. One calendar month's written notice is required to withdraw. If notice is given after the 5th of the month, that month's fee is retained. The RM 500 registration is non-refundable.
