Inside Kindred Vet & Pet Care — a calm, light-filled consultation room in Petaling Jaya

The clinic · Est. 2016

A place your pet looks forward to visiting.

We opened in SS2, Petaling Jaya because we wanted a vet clinic that felt more like a home and less like a hospital. Soft lighting, quiet treatment rooms, and a team trained in low-stress handling — so even anxious patients leave calmer than they arrived.

Our in-house lab means most results come back within the hour. No waiting days for a blood panel when your pet is unwell. We believe transparency matters too — you will always know the cost before we proceed.

Before you visit

Questions pet owners always ask us first.

What should I expect on my pet's first visit?

We start with a full nose-to-tail physical, ask about diet, lifestyle, and any concerns you have noticed at home. Our vet will walk you through everything they find in plain language — no rushing, no jargon. First visits take 30–40 minutes on average. Bring any vaccination records you have; we will scan and store them for you.

How does the vaccination schedule work for dogs and cats?

Puppies and kittens need a series of vaccines every 3–4 weeks until 16 weeks old, then annual or triennial boosters depending on the vaccine type. Adult pets on a regular schedule come in once a year. We will send you a reminder when boosters are due so nothing slips. Rabies vaccination is required by law for all dogs in Malaysia.

Do you see emergencies? What if my pet is sick after hours?

We have an emergency WhatsApp line — +60 16-226 0880 — that operates outside normal clinic hours for triage advice. If your pet needs urgent in-person care overnight, we will refer you to the nearest 24-hour facility and brief them directly so you are not repeating the history. During clinic hours, call ahead and we will prepare a room for you.

What payment methods do you accept? Are there instalment options?

We accept cash, DuitNow QR, all major bank transfers, Visa, and Mastercard. For larger planned procedures (surgery, dental, specialised diagnostics), we offer interest-free instalment arrangements over two to four months — speak to our front desk before the appointment so we can set it up ahead of time.

Can I board my pet even if it has never visited Kindred before?

Yes — new boarding guests are welcome, though we do ask for up-to-date vaccination records at check-in (core vaccines within the last 12 months). If your pet is overdue, we can update them during drop-off for a small additional fee. Bring their regular food if they have a sensitive stomach; we feed whatever you provide, or our standard Royal Canin diet if not.

How are prices determined, and will I know the cost before you start?

We provide a written estimate for every non-routine procedure — diagnostics, surgery, dental — before anything begins. You approve it first. Routine consultations, vaccinations, and prescription prices are listed at the front desk. We do not charge hidden facility or anaesthesia-monitoring fees separately; everything is itemised on your receipt.

Something we have not covered? WhatsApp the clinic directly — we usually reply within the hour during opening times.
