The shop, opened
Since 2013 we have kept a single shop in Bangsar for browsers, gift-givers, and anyone after the book they did not know they needed. Pull a chair into the reading nook. Stay as long as the story holds you.

Our story

Danial Hisham
Co-founder
Folio started as a shelf in Rosnah's living room — 400 books she had read and wanted to share. When her son Danial suggested turning it into a shop, she thought he was joking. That was 2013. The joke now has 6,000 titles and a loyal enough community that we have never once been tempted by a second location.
We are a single-location shop in Bangsar because we believe the best bookshops know their customers by name. We stock what we love, what our community asks for, and what we think deserves to be in more hands. We do not carry everything — and we are proud of that.
“A bookshop should feel like a conversation you did not know you needed. We try to be that, every day.”
— Rosnah Hisham, Founder
