05 · Our story
We started Pagi because mornings deserved better coffee.
Pagi opened in 2018 in a narrow shophouse on Jalan Telawi. The name is the Malay word for morning — because that is what this place is about: the ritual of the first cup, done right.
We roast in Cheras, pick up green from importers we trust, and rotate the bar every quarter as new harvests arrive. Our team is small by choice. Seven of us, most of whom have been here since year two.

Direct relationships
We buy from farmers, not brokers. Knowing who grew the coffee — and paying them fairly — is what keeps the quality honest.
Small batches
Our roaster holds 10 kg per drum. That limit is the discipline. It means every roast gets full attention, not just the first few kilos.
Fresh only
We roast each origin once a week and stop when it sells out. There is no safety stock sitting in a warehouse going stale.
